I'm researching architectures of control in design: in short, how products, systems and environments are increasingly being designed to control and restrict users' behaviour. It's a subject with a lot of overlap with the free software (and anti-DRM) movements, essentially looking at how companies (and governments) are extending DRM/control-type thinking into everyday life, to enforce certain ways of behaving. In many cases these are applying Lessig's 'code is law' concept to hardware: if we build a product so you can only use it in certain ways, then there is little need for any actual law on the matter.
