This may not be a real fork (so I have not proposed it yet). I would be happy for "Libre Defined" to be equivalent to "Freedom Defined". The thinking around the preamble etc. looks good.
I suspect the term "libre" is becoming quite well understood via the acceptance of the term FLOSS (free/libre and open source software), and we may be reaching a point where 'libre" may be used to avoid the free/gratis confusion.
Note that the definition above is a direct analog of the [http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.html Free Software definition] (standing on the shoulders of giants :-).
If there is discussion about this approach, I hope it addresses possible generalisations inherent in the first sentence on this page ("Libre implies freedom to ...).
