- Theora for video
- FLAC for lossless audio
- Open Document for all kinds of documents
- SMIL for Synchronized Multimedia
- Speex for voice compression
- Icecast for broadcasting audio
- XSPF for open playlists
- The Xiph.org Foundation for making open media available to all
- Annodex for open annotation of all media
- PNG for Portable Network Graphics
- SVG for Scalable Vector Graphics
