Otherwise, couldn't they have aired it for free? Similarly, take a book that costs $12 to make. Pretend that there are two copies available for sale, each from a different publisher: Publisher 1 sells it for $12.50, from which $0.25 goes to the author; Publisher 2 sells it for $12.40, from which nothing goes to the author.
