While we want to arrive at a single, authoritative 1.0 version of the [[definition]], it is perfectly fine to have several different branches in which people edit the definition, if the underlying difference justifies such a process of forking. If you want to create a fork instead of editing [[Definition/Unstable]] directly, here's what to do:

* Make sure you have a user page, e.g. [[User:Erik Möller]]. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
* On this page, create a link like this: <nowiki>[[/Fork 1]]</nowiki>. Following this link will create a ''subpage'' of your user page.
* Copy and paste the content you want to work on from the edit box of [[Definition/Unstable]], or any other version of the definition, to the page.

Please follow this convention, as it makes it harder to confuse any forks with the official definition or its primary unstable editing branch.

When you are done, propose your fork on [[Talk:Definition/Unstable]] for consideration. The usual [[authoring process]] will be used to make a decision.

While we want to arrive at a single, authoritative 1.0 version of the definition, it is perfectly fine to have several different branches in which people edit the definition, if the underlying difference justifies such a process of forking. If you want to create a fork instead of editing Definition/Unstable directly, here's what to do:

  • Make sure you have a user page, e.g. User:Erik Möller. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
  • On this page, create a link like this: [[/Fork 1]]. Following this link will create a subpage of your user page.
  • Copy and paste the content you want to work on from the edit box of Definition/Unstable, or any other version of the definition, to the page.

Please follow this convention, as it makes it harder to confuse any forks with the official definition or its primary unstable editing branch.

When you are done, propose your fork on Talk:Definition/Unstable for consideration. The usual authoring process will be used to make a decision.
